Planning Ahead for Windows 10 End of Support
A practical device, application and budget plan for the Windows 10 support deadline.
The deadline was predictable
Microsoft set 14 October 2025 as the end of support for Windows 10 Home, Pro, Enterprise and Education version 22H2. Organisations needed to identify incompatible hardware and business-critical applications early.
Build an evidence-based inventory
Record model, age, warranty, Windows 11 compatibility, assigned user and critical applications. Group devices into upgrade, replace or exception routes.
Plan more than the operating system
Test peripherals, specialist software, VPN clients, security tools and deployment processes. Use the programme to improve device standards and remove unsupported applications.
